Josh’s Famous Spike Slider

(#112)

Josh’s famous spike slider. His fastball, slider, and split finger all looked the same until they did what they did. He had an awesome post-season run at Clinton High School during the 2008 state playoffs and was a record-setting closer at Hinds and Belhaven from 2009-2012. He could have gotten hitters outs at the professional level. He never got a chance and chose to start his coaching career. He was a true mentally tough old school competitor as a pitcher and now he’s a great college baseball coach.

There once was pitcher name Clarke who kept opposing hitters in the dark. It was useless to swang, when he “whipped out that thang” because it’s “bite” was much worse than its bark.

Coach Ron Miller, Poet (Circa 2008)
