WHEREAS, the Hinds Community College Baseball Team won the South Division and the Mississippi State Championship;

WHEREAS, this team went on to win the Region XXIII National Junior College Athletic Championship and became the first Mississippi team to win the Eastern District Championship;

WHEREAS, said team was the first Mississippi team to participate in the NJCAA Baseball World Series;

WHEREAS, The 1989 Hinds Community College Baseball Team, being the first team of the merged Utica Campus and Raymond Campus baseball programs, represented the College in a superior manner in all circumstances while compiling a record of forty wins and fourteen losses; and,

WHEREAS, the Hinds Community College Board of Trustees desires that the players, coaches, and all who contributed to the success that this team enjoys and the exemplary way in which it presented itself be properly recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees orders that this resolution of appreciation be drawn and made part of the minutes of this meeting.

FURTHER, it orders that the resolution be publicized throughout the Hinds Community College District and a copy presented to Head Coach Rick Clarke.
