(#183)

It’s July 1st – Dennis Gilbert (Bobby Bonilla’s agent) Day or as some people call it, “I Wish I Was Bobby Bonilla Day.”
Bonilla receives a $1,193,248.20 check from the Mets every year on July 1 and will have net just over $29M when the installments end in 2035.
He hasn’t played a single game since 2001.
Gilbert proposed a deal to the team: Payment would be deferred for a decade, after which annual payouts of $1.19 would be made from 2011-35.
This is financial planning at it’s best. I’m sure Dennis and the IRS still get their share each July. ![]()
Maybe Paul Skeens and Dylan Crews should “be like Bobby” next week when they receive a signing bonus slightly larger than their L-S-U-N-I-L deals. Florida’s Wyatt Langford should do it, too.
