(#196)

The essence of baseball is to learn how to compete… with class, with dignity, with sportsmanship. Discipline, consistency and sound fundamentals. Game plans on offense and defense that must be followed. The universal rule of baseball is always in effect; the team with the most runs wins; always.
Find efficient ways to hold them down and put runs on the board. When they score, we answer. When we score, we throw a zero. Pick the pack up. Use your mouth only to communicate with and encourage your teammates.
Focus on the art of the battle; pitcher vs hitter, hitter vs pitcher. Toughen up. Project the right body language. It shows what’s going on between your ears. You don’t have to hate the other team. It’s a competition. Just compete. Hit, field, throw, run, pitch and bunt and do it well. It’s not personal. It’s strictly business. It’s your job. Do your job.
Play hard, have fun! Compete!
(P.S.- it’s easier to have fun when you compete and perform well and win; those two things are usually connected). Just saying…
