Welcome to The Official, Unofficial Hinds Baseball Hall of Fame, an online HOF, created as a part of our Always an Eagle Project to honor those great teams and great players at Hinds from 1973 through 2005. Our goal is to make sure that outstanding individual and team performances have a place to be remembered and honored in an online format which can be easily accessed 24/7/365.


Upcoming Event at Joe G. Moss Field in 2023:

The Inaugural Induction Ceremony for the Official, Unofficial Hinds Baseball Hall of Fame will celebrate the legacy of “The Boys of ’73,”The Originals” on the 50th anniversary of the reinstatement of the baseball program at Hinds.

April 15, 2023 – Pregame ceremony before the Mississippi Delta – Hinds games at Joe G. Moss Field at 1:30 pm.

Inductees: Coach Danny Neely, Powell Taylor (Bus Driver and first base coach; posthumously), Bobby Barrett*, Doug Branning (posthumously), LeRoy Brown (posthumously), Ray Burroughs, Rick Clarke*, Doug Cockrell, Don Flowers, Roy Higdon, Leonard Knowles (posthumously), Stirling Madden, Butch Newman, Eddie Ramsey, Bill Sanders (posthumously). Always Eagles.

I. HINDS BASEBALL COACHES HALL OF FAME:

There have been only five head baseball coaches at Hinds since baseball was reinstated in 1973, Danny Neely (1973-1982), Bill Marchant (1983), Rick Clarke (1984-2005), and Sam Temple (2006-2021). Add George McQuitter to the list, my associate head coach in 1989-91.

Andy Lee (1994-1995) Andy was also the pitching coach for the baseball team for 2 seasons (2004, 05) and head softball coach at Hinds for 3 seasons (2006, 07, 08). He was the head softball coach at LSUE where he won 582 games in 11 seasons along with six national championships (2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019). He is currently the head softball coach at Northwest Florida State College. He is the son of former MLB lefty Bill “Spaceman” Lee.
